E&L Enterprises Ltd., Structural Appraisal of Existing Warehouse Steel Roof Truss Structure

As part of a larger project consisting of the overall rehabilitation of the facility located at HHF075A, Hal Far, Forward Structures performed a structural appraisal of an existing steel structure consisting of a steel roof truss, roofing over two enclosures measuring 15m in width by 85m in length. The appraisal was required in order to assess the condition of the structure and its load carrying capacity, against a proposal to clad the roof entirely with photo voltaic panels.

The steel structure was modelled and checked against older material qualities and design codes methods in order to assess the suitability and capacity of the structure for the proposed new load following which the structure was grit-blasted, repaired and re-painted with new roof cladding installed.
